Gamification lets you build and improve systems in a variety of ways —from policy and governance to service delivery and community engagement. Because these areas are interconnected, strengthening one benefits others. Lantern can partner with you to use gamification to spark ‘domino effects’ that drive system-wide change through fun and memorable methods that everyone can enjoy.
The World Health Organization engaged us to design a capacity-building workshop to help policymakers across the Pacific legislate more effectively in support of Digital Health. The workshop also sought to enhance participants’ ability to navigate the broader policy-making process.
Following an in-depth review of the policy and legal landscape, we identified a set of core learning outcomes that the game-based workshop needed to deliver. Specifically, participants should be able to:
The game was designed for resource constrained environments, does not rely on digital technologies, and requires no prior training in law, or digital health.
Gamification turns complexity into clarity. In fast-changing systems, games offer a safe space to test ideas, think critically, and work together. They make learning active, interaction meaningful, and decisions more informed. In a nutshell, they can accelerate insight, alignment, and action.
Gamification suits a broad range of applicants. The following outlines those we are particularly familiar with gamifying.
Different services for different applications
Our custom-designed and locally contextualised games help people explore realistic problems and policy responses in an engaging, thoughtful way. Each game is tailored to your goals and context.
Using evidenced-based games and simulations we run workshops that strengthen workforce and leadership across health system domains.
Gamification helps law and policy designers develop better quality approaches and more effectively navigate the policy process. It’s a refreshing and effective way to solve tough multi-dimensional problems.
Let people see how new policies will work before they’re implemented, and more effectively roll them out during implementation. Our tools make complex laws easier to understand and discuss, creating stronger community input and buy-in.
We create simulations that help governments assess how ready their health systems are for real-world challenges. They reveal weak points, improve coordination, and build shared understanding—quickly and cost-effectively.
Our train-the-trainer approach builds local capacity. We teach your team how to run gamified sessions themselves, enabling sustainable, local ownership of the process.
Serious games are a niche and nuanced field. Creating games that are both engaging and outcome-driven requires the kind of multidisciplinary collaboration that sits at the heart of how Lantern works. Our ability to drive change through gamification is strengthened by these additional disciplines we work across.
